Every Day Matters

Stanton Elementary Newsletter Volume 3

Notes from Mrs. Miller

Mrs. Collier and I have been visiting classes and are very impressed with the behavior and learning going on. We know that this is truly a partnership between the school and home to see our students doing so well, and for that, we thank YOU, our parents!

Every class that has perfect attendance is getting their picture taken and posted on our bulletin board. Mrs. Brandon and Mrs. Mabry's classes have both reached 5 days with many nipping at their heels, and have been rewarded with treats. Our competition has started over, and we will try getting students here every day. We do NOT want you to send a sick child, but we know that the best learning takes place in person, so send them to school every day possible!

September Lunch Menus - due to COVID restrictions, parents may drop off lunches, but parents will not be allowed to eat with their child. If you are dropping off a lunch, make sure they know to come pick it up!

Stanton Elementary Tardy Policy

Please make sure your student arrives on time! Free breakfast for all students from 7:35-7:55. Tardy bell rings at 8:00. If they come in past then, they are considered tardy. We already have some that are serving detention, so please be aware we are tracking this. Remember that 3 tardies or leaving early can turn in to an absence. If possible, make appointments after school hours or remember to bring a note from the doctor's office so we can excuse the time.

Consequences for a tardy:

  • 1st-2nd Warning

  • 3rd-5th Detention for each one

  • 6th - 8th Before School Detention (7:30-8:00) or after (4:00-4:30) for each & Parent Conference

  • 9th-11th -Saturday School

  • 12th -ISS & Home Visit

Counselor's Corner by Mrs. Shafer

Last week, I was able to teach all classes a character lesson on RESPECT. Be sure to ask your student about what they learned. Talk about what respect means in your family.
