LEARNING EXPERIENCES FOR ACADEMIC DISCOVERIES
GT LEAD...HERE WE GO!
For this week only, I will see your child on the following days:
1st--Thursday
2nd--Wednesday
3rd--Tuesday
4th--Wednesday
5th--Tuesday/Wednesday (Groups A & B)
Thank you for your patience, as I am completing testing of new students, as well as with it being Labor Day Week.
WELCOME BACK!
Below is the Welcome Back email that I sent to GT Parents in August.
Principal Young is leading us this year with a new theme, which is “Education Taylor-ed to U!” We will be focusing on ways to tailor education to each individual student, especially with our implementation of Future Explorations! As a result, our new Twitter hashtag for this year is #OCT4U. She also shared this quote:
Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
As you have have spent time EXPLORING with your families, whether it be a stay-cation or traveling in the US or abroad, I would like for you to sit down with your child and pick a favorite moment to share with GT LEAD. Think about where you BLAZED A TRAIL this summer and what that meant to you.
For example, my family went to Costa Rica, and we BLAZED A TRAIL through the rainforest zip-lining together. This was a great moment for me because I had never zip-lined before, and I was able to see the rain forest from a whole other perspective. Once your child picks a photo to share, please have your child write his/her FIRST NAME ONLY, location/activity he/she is doing, and why this memory was chosen. Please look at my example below:
Kathy--5th Grade
Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica
My family went to Costa Rica, and we BLAZED A TRAIL through the rainforest zip-lining together. This was a great moment for me because I had never zip-lined before, and I was able to see the rain forest from a whole other perspective. I would give this 5 out of 5 Tiger Paws!
This activity is TOTALLY OPTIONAL. I thought it would help us transition into brainstorming topics for us to EXPLORE this year.
Your children can bring these the first two weeks of school. I will be hanging these in the hallway as they come to me.
I am so looking forward to working with your children! Thank you for letting me be a part of their world.

SAGE Family Social
Meet up with SAGE and your GT friends at Dave & Buster's on Sept. 10
You are invited to celebrate the start of school at the SAGE Family Fun Night at Dave & Buster’s!
Bring the family for games, food and socializing in SAGE’s private dining room on Sunday, September 10, between 5 and 8 p.m.
Buy a pre-paid Power Card and be ready to play:
SAGE is selling pre-paid Power Cards as a fundraiser. You use these cards instead of cash to play games. The cards do not expire, so you can buy a bunch and save them for later — and they make great gifts!
How to pre-purchase Power Cards:
Click here and use PayPal to pre-purchase Power Cards in increments of $20. Purchase as many as you like. You will pick up your Power Cards that evening in SAGE’s private dining room the evening of the social. Or, if you can't make the social, we can mail them to you.
Bonus: Your dining purchases that evening will benefit SAGE. Dave & Buster’s will give us back 10% of your food purchases. Click here to get the flyer to show the cashier when you order.
SAGE will see you soon at Dave & Buster's!
