October 1st, 2022
Thank you to all who were able to attend our Curriculum Night last evening. It was wonderful to host parents, grandparents, and family members in our classrooms and engage in meaningful discussions about this school year (past, present, and future). Our team truly valued your time and willingness to partner. If you were unable to make it last night, please connect with your child's teacher to review the information that was shared.
Lastly, please note that October is a busy month including multiple family events and our fall family/teacher conferences beginning at the end of this month. Two upcoming events of note involve volunteers.
- Our 2022 Pumpkin Night will be held on campus on the evening of Friday, Oct 28th. This wonderful event is hosted by our PTA and they are in need of volunteers to help run game stations and other fun, family opportunities. Become a Watch Dogs in Support of our Eagles!
This year, we have been able to restart our WATCH D.O.G.S.® program and look forward to welcoming Watch Dogs to our campus. In short, a Watch Dog is a designated volunteer who specifically signs-up for the day to assist across classrooms, lunch, and recesses. Watch Dogs get a great overview of "the day in the life of our students/school" and spend invaluable time in support of our Eagles. Additionally, our students and Monroe Team are very appreciative of having Watch Dogs in our building.
All Watch Dogs need to be cleared through our District's Volunteer site. This process can take up to two weeks to be completed so please plan ahead. Below is the link to District Volunteer application:

If your volunteer status is approved and you are ready to pick a date to be a Watch DOG, please sign up using the following link:

We look forward to partnering with you!
Honoring our Community, Past, Present & Future!
It is with great pride and enthusiasm that our Eagles are collectively honoring Hispanic Heritage Month. Across these months of September and October, our school will celebrate the unique and vital role that Latino and Latina Americans have played in shaping our county, state, and community. Together, we intend to celebrate the histories, cultures, and contributions of our students, colleagues, and families who trace their personal family history to South America, Central America, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Spain.
Thus far, our students have learned about leaders (past, present, and future) including Jovita Idár and Sophie Cruz. We will continue our celebration across October and welcome your family to learn along with our Eagles. Asking questions like, "who are you studying?" and "why do you think they did what they did for others?" are powerful opportunities to connect.
Thank you for your shared commitment as we celebrate, learn, and grow as a community.
