MISD has not made any decision regarding the opening of school in August. District leaders are collaborating with state leaders daily to assess this fluid situation and are making plans for different scenarios. When any decisions are made, I will communicate with parents.
Should you have any questions or need anything over the summer months, please reach out to me via email at firstname.lastname@example.org as buildings are still closed.
We are looking forward to July 28th and hoping that we will be able to gather together to celebrate our 4th graders and give them a proper send off.

20/21 School Supplies
Proof of Residency for 20/21 School Year
Mansfield ISD welcomes you and your family to a new school year! Before school starts in August, all students are required to provide proof of residence (POR).
All families with returning students to Mansfield Independent School District may email their proof of residence to their student’s current campus at: Brown_POR@misdmail.org (for WBA students)....Orr_POR@misdmail.org for those who will be moving on to Mary Orr Intermediate.
PLEASE NOTE: Each campus has their own email address, so if you have multiple students at different campuses, you will need to send a separate POR to each campus’ email.
Satisfactory proof of residence includes:
- Electric, Gas, or Water Bill – with May service dates or later
Newly Established Residency in last 30 days includes:
- Lease Agreement
- The lease agreement may be acceptable if it is new (30 days or less).
- Is used when you do not have a utility bill and the lease states bills are paid by lessor.
- Other documentation may be requested when a utility bill is not available.
- The lease agreement must list the student occupants.
Free Meals Continues Through the Summer
Summer meals will be available at the same six sites we have been operating through the school closure: Icenhower Intermediate, Lake Ridge High School, Perry Elementary, Mary Jo Sheppard Elementary, Morris Elementary, and Harmon Elementary.
What days and times? Tuesday and Friday 9am-11am.
Will families go inside or curbside pickup? Curbside pickup.
Do students have to be enrolled in MISD? No, ALL children 18 years and younger are eligible. Any special needs adults up to age 21 are also eligible. It is not necessary to be on the Free & Program and not necessary to be enrolled in MISD.
Do children have to be present in the car? No, federal waivers were granted, and parents may now pick up meals for kids. We simply ask for documentation when they arrive in the pick-up line. Documentation can be a school ID, school schedule, birth certificate, passport, immunization card, etc.
What will each child receive on the distribution days? 3 breakfast meals and 3 lunch meals.
Will you operate on 4th of July Week? Yes!!
What is the last date of summer meal pick-up? July 31.
Are kids/families allowed to walk or ride bikes to the sites? Yes. They must then leave the property with the meals. We are not offering onsite dining.
