CIS Weekly Updates

2022-2023 #4 September 12-16

As we start our fifth week of school, please be sure to check your child's ProgressBook. You can see grades and have good conversations about how things are going at school. If you have any questions then please reach out to the teachers. If you don't have access to ProgressBook then please call the main office. The first grading period ends on October 13th.

Families have ONE WEEK to purchase Chromebook insurance. If you opt in for Chromebook Insurance, the $25 fee needs to be paid by September 19th. You can send in one check for both the instructional fee and Chromebook insurance made payable to Wadsworth City Schools or pay online via PaySchools. *If you don't complete the process then you will not have Chromebook Insurance for the school year.

Have a FANTASTIC week!

September Town Hall Meeting

This past Friday, we had our first town hall meeting. We celebrated Patriot Day, talked about CIS Rocks, learned about Mindset #1 Everything is Possible, and recognized students and staff. At the end, two students were able to pie Mrs. Goddard-Halicki and me. We will have a town hall meeting every month to CONNECT, CHALLENGE and CELEBRATE.

CIS is on Instagram

Check out the CIS Instagram at cisrocks. We are adding content to our story regularly to keep our community updated on the great things happening at our school.

Start With Hello Week - September 19-23

We will participate in Start with Hello Week throughout the week of September 19-

23. Click here to learn more about what we are doing!

Hello and welcome CIS parents! My name is Marlene Bossart and I am your child’s Art teacher this year. I am very excited to get to know all of your children this year and see the amazing art that they create. I have some Art lessons planned this year that I hope they will enjoy. For those of you who are willing and able, I am looking for a few donations to the Art room. This is an excellent opportunity to clean out your crafting area! If you have any of the following and would like to donate them to the art room, I would greatly appreciate it. The supplies that we seem to go through the fastest are: pencils, erasers, sharpies, crayons, markers and colored pencils. If you have any other items that you are wanting to donate, I would happily accept those as well! Please do not feel obligated to donate, this is just an opportunity to help you declutter! I appreciate your help and look forward to a great year here at CIS!

Big picture

We will use REMIND for much of our school communications. We get our contact information from your updated Final Forms. If you notice that you aren't receiving our REMIND messages then please let us know by calling our office at 330-335-1480. We recommend you download the app and to have more options for messaging.

Our attendance clerk, Mrs. Long, is the contact person for calling off your student and any change of dismissal plans throughout the day. Please call the Attendance Line to reach her and/or leave a message. The phone number to her desk is 330-335-1481. We recommend you let the attendance desk/teacher know when your student is going to be absent, leaving early or arriving late. Letting us know when your child is going to leave early allows us to be prepared for when you arrive. Thank you for your efforts!

Our school district will follow these recommendations from the Ohio Department of Health.

ODH recommends schools follow general isolation procedures from the CDC for confirmed cases. If students or staff feel sick or suspect they might have COVID-19, they should stay home and take a rapid test. If positive, students and staff should stay home from school for at least 5 days and longer if necessary until fever-free for 24 hours (without the use of fever-reducing medication) and symptoms are improving. Additionally, after isolation ends, students and staff should continue to take precautions as they resume normal activities by wearing a mask for 5 days (or after two negative tests 48 hours apart).
