4th Grade Newsletter // December 19-21, 2016

From the Desk of Mrs. Eske:

Dear Fourth Grade Families,


A snowy start to a short week can only mean one thing… We have “SNoWbaLLs” of fun in store for us!!!


Monday, Dec. 19th

  • Polar Express/PJ Day for Staff & Students
  • Student Council Holiday Craft/Minute-to-Win-It & Carol Sing-Along Night at Jeffries 6-7PM (free to get in/new stuffed animal donation requested, hot cocoa, etc. available for purchase) in the Gym & APR. Note: We do request donated new stuffed animal in return for attending the event. They will be given to children spending the holidays in the hospital.

Tuesday, Dec. 20th

  • Festive Holiday Sweater Day-This includes your favorite or most non-favorite holiday sweater!
  • 4th Grade Students will be watching a holiday movie together from 1:00-3:00 in the afternoon. Students will earn their “ticket” to the movie by having all of their work finished and great behavior, prior to the movie!

Wednesday, Dec. 21st

  • End of 2nd Quarter
  • It's a Winter Wonderland! (Staff/Students can dress up as a snowman, elf, reindeer, etc.). All school assembly (Choir performs) 1:30-2:15PM; Winter Parties (2:30-3:30PM)

WINTER PARTY!

Our Classroom Winter Party is coming up on Wednesday, Dec. 21st, from 2:30-3:20!!!! I want to send a special shout out, and Thank YOU, to our amazing volunteers; who will be providing food, drinks, and supplies for the party!!! YOU are AWESOME and we appreciate your generosity very much!

SUBJECT NOTIFICATIONS: On

Reading: Another special mystery guest will be coming in to read a holiday story aloud to us! We will play reading comprehension board games, participate in holiday-related reading activities, and read aloud our favorite holiday books to one another.


Math: We will play a game called, "Snowball Toss" to review multiplication and division facts.


Writing: This week we will continue using Google Slides to publish our poetry books!! Once finished, we will print our books, and they will be sent home for your viewing pleasure!! :)

Dec. 23rd-Jan. 3rd- Winter Break begins for teachers/staff!


January Important Events


Wednesday, Jan. 4th- Students and Staff Return to School from Winter Break!

Monday, Jan. 9th- iREADY TESTING BEGINS for 4th grade students in math!!!

Tuesday, Jan. 10th- iREADY TESTING CONTINUES for 4th grade students in reading!!!!
