RtI
We feel that the RtI meetings went quite well this quarter! Here are a few reminders/follow ups:
- If we started Tier 1, scan any data sheets in and attach in Aware or send them to your case manager.
- If we moved a child to Tier 2, the parent needs to be contacted by the teacher, progress monitoring needs to occur weekly, and progress monitoring data should be communicated to the parent each week. Again, data needs to uploaded into Aware.
- If we referred a child for Special Education Testing, the parent needs to be contacted to set up a conference with them, you, your team teacher, and Tiffany Edwards. The parent should know that Tiffany, our diagnostician, will be in attendance because the meeting is to discuss further testing and data collection.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please let us know.
What's your red rubber ball?
During summer 2015, Nicole and I went to the ISTE conference. Kevin Carroll was one of the keynote speakers...and the only one who could keep my attention for the duration of his talk. Heh. The video below gives a little of his testimony, his backstory.
Why am I giving this to you? No particular reason. Sometimes you just need to hear a good story about an underdog. Sometimes you need to hear something that is outside the education world, yet still applicable. Sometimes you need motivation. Sometimes you need a reminder as to why you chose this field. Maybe teaching is your red rubber ball.
