Every Student, Every Day, Deserves to Learn, Lead, & Excel!
Message from Ms. Perkins
The weather is beautiful and we are looking forward to a great evening of fun. We will be hosting an outdoor movie at dusk. Disney's Encanto will be shown on the big screen on the Simonton ES playground. Bring your lawn chair or blanket.
If you enjoy science, math or technology, you will want to stop by our school next Tuesday, April 25, 2022 for STEM night. There will be many great activities for the whole family. STEM night will take pace from 5:00 - 7:00 pm.
The 2021-2022 Simonton ES yearbooks have arrived! Students who have purchased a copy will be coming home with them today. You can have your very own copy for just $23.00. Log on to MyPaymentsPlus to buy a copy.
Have a wonderful weekend!
We had a blast welcoming a number of Pre-K students from neighboring daycares into our building for a tour! The first stop was with Ms. Perkins, our school principal, for a Simonton welcome.
Congratulations Savannah Ewongkem! Simonton ES Gifted Student of the Year!
Simonton ES STEM Team
We are excited to invite families to join us for a mostly outdoor night of hands-on learning! Students will participate in science, technology, engineering, and math activities with teachers and community organizations. This will include science experiments, math challenges, coding, and robotics!
Students will fill out a passport while having fun for a chance to win a prize to take home.

Will your child be 5 years old by Sept. 1? If yes, it’s time to register for kindergarten in an easy, two-step process! First, go to the Kindergarten Registration page on the GCPS website and click the Register Now! button to begin the online registration process. Then, schedule an appointment at your child’s school to verify information, complete a kindergarten readiness profile, pick up materials, and learn about an exciting summer learning opportunity—GCPS’ Rising K Academy!
Rising K Academy offers fun, hands-on learning activities to help kindergartners get ready for the first day of school at no cost to families! Children will meet new friends, learn through play, practice cooperating with their classmates and solving problems, and build the skills they will need to be ready for kindergarten. Transportation and meals (breakfast and lunch) are provided. This in-person program will meet Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., from June 13 to July 1, with a school holiday on June 20.
New kindergartners registered by May 20 will be entered to win prizes like tablets, books, and LEGOs!
