Important Message from our District Office

To WVUSD Parents and Guardians,

We hope you and your family had a wonderful Spring Break. WVUSD Educational Services would like to remind you regarding the following updates.

  • All schools resume instruction on Monday, April 12, without Student Support/Tutorial Time (1:10- 2:30 pm) only during the week of April 12 due to reopening planning time for staff.

  • Wednesday, April 14, and Thursday, April 15 are district-designated Asynchronous Student Learning Days. Attendance is counted on both dates.
    • Secondary Students (6-12): Students must complete the Attendance Check-In posted on the learning management system such as Google Classroom before the end of each period/block to count for attendance on both dates. Students will work on assignments and asynchronous work assigned by the teachers during the period/block on each day. On April 14 and 15, students will NOT be receiving any LIVE virtual classroom lessons (i.e. Zoom).
    • If you have additional questions on the district-designated Asynchronous Days, email the district through Let’s Talk.
    • On AERIES Parent Portal, please indicate whether your child will attend school in-person or join the virtual learning for the 2021/2022 school year by Wednesday, April 14, 2021.

      A response is required for your child to be successfully counted towards enrollment for the 2021/2022 school year (the first day of school is August 9, 2021).

      Attending traditional school for in-person instruction every day (5 days per week subject to change based on capacity limitations due to adequate spacing of students);

      Join Virtual Learning for 2021/2022 School Year

      Please see the video and the directions on how to access Aeries Parent Portal to complete your Intent to Return for 2021/2022.

      Any students returning to in-person instruction must have their immunizations up to date.

    • Academic "Stable Groups" (aka Academic Cohorts) begin on Monday, April 19.

Thank you,

WVUSD Educational Services

Travel Advisory - Reminder

  • On April 5, 2021, the LA County Public Health revised the Travel Advisory and guidelines. Fully vaccinated travelers do not need to quarantine after returning from a trip. If you are not fully vaccinated, Public Health requires all residents and employees of LA County to quarantine for seven days with a negative COVID-19 test or ten days if the traveler did not get tested for the COVID-19 test after traveling out of state or out of the country. If you and your family have traveled out of state or out of the country during Spring Break, your child may not come to the school site during the seven day or ten-day quarantine period. Here is the link to more information

  • If Public Health revises the travel quarantine, we will communicate the updates with you.
