What is Energy and its basic forms?
Energy is a property of objects which can be transferred to other objects or converted into different forms. Energy comes in 2 basic forms: Potential and Kinetic.
Potential energy is any type of stored energy., And Kinetic energy is found any type of movement. Energy can shift between forms, but it is never destroyed or created but It can be transformed.
Mechanical energy
Mechanical energy is the sum of kinetic and potential energy in an object that is used to do work. In other words, it is energy in an object due to its motion or position, or both.
Chemical Energy
Chemical Energy is energy stored in the bonds of chemical compounds (atoms and molecules). It is released in a chemical reaction, often producing heat as a by-product (exothermic reaction). Batteries, biomass, petroleum, natural gas, and coal are examples of stored chemical energy.
Thermal Energy
Thermal energy is the energy that comes from heat. This heat is generated by the movement of tiny particles within an object. The faster these particles move, the more heat is generated.
Questions and Answers
A.Most of our energy comes originally from the sun. The sun radiates heat and light energy.
Q.What is the transfer of energy?
A.Energy is transferred from one object to another when a reaction takes place. Energy comes in many forms and can be transferred from one object to another as heat, light, or motion, to name a few.
