Changes to Extra-Curricular Spectator Attendance
Because of this change, we will be moving to the yellow portion of our "Return to Play" Plan that was adopted this past summer. Beginning Friday, September 25, 2020 at noon, for indoor games involving athletes in grades 9-12 hosted at Des Lacs – Burlington Schools, each participant will be issued 2 vouchers. These vouchers will be given to each participant prior to the contest and are to be used to be able to purchase a ticket to the contest. Adults and students who do not attend DL-B will not be allowed entrance to the contest unless they present the voucher. DL-B students will still be allowed entrance for home games without having a voucher. This directly affects our home volleyball game with Bishop Ryan on Tuesday, September 29th. This will not affect 5th and 6th grade and junior high games. Again, when looking at away games, those parameters are determined by the hosting school.
Finally, outdoor games hosted at DL-B do not have any restrictions on fan admittance at this time.

A Little Bit About Our School Counseling Program
Our elementary school counseling program consists of:
· classroom guidance lessons twice per month
· small groups
· individual sessions
Classroom Lesson Topics: I cover topics alongside the Second Step Curriculum Taught in the Classrooms. Unit topics include:
· skills for learning
· empathy
· emotion management
· problem solving
· In addition, I cover topics such as conflict resolution, self-esteem, and career awareness
Goal of Program: to strengthen social-emotional skills and to empower students to be resilient for lifelong success.
Individual and Group Sessions
· voluntary and offered to all students, sometimes at their teacher’s request
· typically once a week for 15-20 minutes
o If there is a need to visit with your child for more than 3 sessions, it is required that I have your verbal permission and will be in contact with you.
· not meant to be therapy
o In cases where a more serious need arises, I may encourage that your child speaks with an outside therapist or psychiatrist.
Distance Learning: If your child/children are learning from home, the school counseling program is still available to them. I can meet with students via Zoom. They will still have access to classroom lessons as they will take place in their teacher’s classroom. Students will follow their normal school day schedule and stay signed in with their classrooms to be able to view and participate in my lessons.
Please call or email me with any questions you may have and if there is anything I may help your child with. All counseling is confidential except if it is in the student’s best interest for me to disclose to the proper authorities, such as in the case of abuse, endangerment, or self-harm. I am happy to discuss general impressions as I work with your child so you may best help him/her at home.
Thank you for your time and I am looking forward to continuing to guide students to be the best version of themselves!
