On Monday, August 9th you will be able to see who your child's teacher will be.
You are welcome to come to school on Tuesday, August 10th between 7:30-9:00 a.m. to meet your teacher and see where your classrooms are located. Masks are encouraged.
Then we begin the with our first day of the 2021-22 school year on Wednesday morning at 7:40 a.m.
GREAT NEWS for all our families:
Breakfast and lunch will be free for ALL students for the 21-22 school year!
Students will be able to purchase a-la-carte items if you would like them to.

We have important updates regarding the beginning of the year. Please see these updates below:

The information below shows changes to our beginning of the year activities to reflect our district guidelines. These guidelines continue to change, and we will keep our families posted every step of the way.
Important Dates to Remember:
Saturday, August 7th - 9:30 AM --- Pre-Kinder, Kindergarten and First Grade PTA Back to School Playdate *** No Changes from previous email***
Tuesday, August 10th - 7:30 AM - 9 AM --- Meet the Teacher
(In Person Only – Face Masks Highly Recommended) – This is an OPTIONAL event for families.
Meet the Teacher is a come and go event. Please join us and meet your child’s teacher(s) for this school year, pick up any PTA purchased supplies, as well as purchase spirit wear from the PTA.
- Speaking of PTA…We would love for you to not only join the PTA, but also join the PTA team in any way you can. We are better because of you, our families. Our PTA is led by our parents, and there is a place for each family member who wants to join and work alongside our PTA.
Wednesday, August 11th --- First Day of School
The school day begins for students at 7:40 each day.
Please note: Parents WILL NOT be able to walk students to class on the first day of school. We will have all of our staff members ready to help our students make it to the right classroom safely.

GOGUARDIAN FOR PARENTS
Welcome to GoGuardian Parent!
Good news! Plano ISD families now have access to GoGuardian Parent, a mobile app that gives parents/guardians the ability to manage and monitor student activity on school-issued Chromebooks during out-of-school hours. GoGuardian Parent is a companion to the classroom management and internet filtering tools that our district uses during the school day.
What is included in this app:
A Top 5 summary of student browsing (apps, extensions and websites visited)
A 30-day view of websites, videos, apps, and extensions
The ability to block websites on school-issued devices during out-of-school hours
The ability to pause internet access on school-issued devices during out-of-school hours, either on-demand or at a scheduled time
To access the app, please follow the instructions below:
Download the
- appiPhone: Visit App Store, search for GoGuardian Parent, and tap the download button.
- Android: Visit Google Play Store, search for GoGuardian Parent, and tap the download button.
After the app is successfully downloaded and installed, open it up and enter the email address registered with the Plano ISD Parent Portal.
Login/Check Email: Check your email on your phone for a link to log in to the app. Tap the "Verify your email", and it will take you straight to the app.
Note: If you don't have access to your email through the device you used to log in, tap on "Login with verification code", and copy and paste the verification code from the email into the app.

Volunteering for 2021-22
Plano ISD seeks to create a safe place for students, free from crime, violence, drugs and abuse. As required by the Texas Education Code, Plano ISD conducts criminal history record checks through the Texas Department of Public Safety on all volunteers, including but not limited to general campus volunteers, camp counselors, field trip sponsors, mentors and tutors.
As we plan for the upcoming year, we want you to be a part of it! Please click the volunteer image below to submit your background check for the 2021-22 school year. Sooner is better to beat the rush!
UPCOMING DATES
A School Based Improvement Committee (SBIC) is established at each campus in the state of Texas. The committee serves in an advisory role. In the role, the committee is reviews campus goals, campus educational planning, and performance objectives. The committee also reviews the Campus Improvement Plan and is invited to provide feedback.
Our committee consists of staff members, district-level personnel, parents, community members (residents of the district, but not parents of students), and business representatives. Parent membership includes a PTA representative, one parent appointed by the principal, and four parents determined by a random drawing from among volunteers. Members serve for a two to three year term.
If you would be interested in serving on the committee, please complete the information below.
We will meet three times each year. Meetings begin at 3:15 p.m.
Our tentative dates are:
Monday, Sept. 13,
Monday, Feb. 7 and
Monday, May 16.

2021-22 Voluntary Student Accident Insurance
The 2021-22 Voluntary Student Accident Insurance coverage is available for PISD parents to purchase through AXIS Insurance Company using the Enrollment Form included on page 4 of this document.
These forms are also available on the Student Insurance webpage at www.pisd.edu/studentinsurance.
Parents can access the following on the above webpage:
· Coverage and premium options (premiums stated are a one-time annual payment)
· Enrollment Form
· Claim Form and instructions for filing a claim
