District 103

Back to School Updates
Dear District 103 Family,
It is my pleasure to welcome you to a new school year! We have been very busy this summer with various projects including: hiring new teachers and support staff; updating curriculum; and preparing the buildings for our students to return. We look forward to seeing our returning students on August 24.
There is some important information for you to review and a few tasks to complete before the school year begins. A checklist for your convenience is provided at the end of this letter. Links to this information can be found at the end of this letter and in our D103 Back To School Folder.
The District is introducing an enhanced safety measure this year by implementing the Pikmykid system for student dismissal. This online platform is designed to streamline the dismissal and parent pick-up procedures. Through the Pikmykid app, parents will have a convenient way to communicate their child's dismissal preferences, such as bus transportation, car pick up, walking home, or staying after school. Stay tuned for additional details in the upcoming weeks, as we provide more information about this exciting development.
Please remember to complete any required health forms and return any relevant medications and/or allergy forms to the school office in advance of the first day of school. These medical forms are part of the district’s student registration process and are also available online. If you are interested in information about student accident insurance plans, please visit the Health and Wellness website page’s forms section.
Please review the District’s life-threatening allergies policy and information regarding healthy and safe foods, including what snacks can be brought to school.
Bus route information will be available through your PowerSchool Parent Portal account. Please check your child’s bus route information on Friday, August 18, 2023, later in the day.
Thank you for working with us to help your children become tomorrow’s leaders. I look forward to partnering with you this year!
With gratitude,
Scott H. Warren, Ed.D.
