Welcome!
Before we begin:
Directly below, you will find a form that must be completed for each student before they can attend in-person next week.
Additionally, you will find the same information that we shared in July. We are sharing with you a more detailed description of what a student day will look like in the building.
Your teacher will be sharing more information as well.
Again, we cannot wait to see our students! Here's to Monday!

Goodridge Adaptations
Please know that all plans are tentative and are subject to change.
We will notify you of any changes.
Morning Drop-Off Time:
- Per KDE recommendation, students will not be permitted in the school building until 8:30 am.
- While in Hybrid, there will be no "holding areas."
- Students will go straight to their classrooms upon entering the building.
Car Riders:
- Student temperature will be taken in the car line.
- Beginning at 8:15 a.m., staff member(s) can take temperatures of students in cars.
- Should student scan greater than 100.4, parent will be directed to park in the parking lot.
- Student’s temperature will be retaken in 15+ minutes.
- If the temperature is less than 100.4, student will be permitted to stay.
Morning Buses:
- Bus drivers have a detailed cleaning protocol that must be conducted before and after routes, and understandably will need additional time to complete after dropping off HS/MS students. Therefore, "pick up" times might be slightly different this year.
- Buses will continue to run the same route everyday, and it is the guardian/student responsibility to know their assigned days.
- Students will be required to wear a mask on the bus at all times. Students living in the same household may be asked to sit together. The seat backs are high and do offer separation between students. There will be less students on each bus providing more seating and space. There is also a hand sanitizing station available on each bus.
- Students being bused will be dropped off in our bus loop and will be released to enter the building through three different doors, accompanied by an adult at 8:30 a.m..
Fevers:
- We will be taking the temperatures of every person (staff and student) that enter the building. Those that have a temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher will be directed to a designated area, away from others.
- Parents will be called, and it is critical that you have a plan for someone to pick up your child immediately.
Precautionary Measures:
- We have installed multiple hand-sanitizing stations around the building, including hallways, cafeteria, main office entry, etc.
- There will be hand sanitizer in every classroom, in addition to, liquid hand soap for every sink.
- Students will also be given opportunities for mask breaks in open areas, such as outside and in the gym.
Hallways & Cafe:
- We have placed 6 ft. makers in all hallways and cafe.
- We have also looked at high-trafficked times such as lunch and recess and adjust times.
- Building Traffic Patterns have changed as we have assigned entry and exit doors.
Restrooms:
Signs for specific restrooms that should not be used.
Signs for sinks that should not be used.
Numbered stalls for contact tracing purposes
Classrooms:
- Each classroom has been measured, and student seating has been designed so that they have an individual working area that is 6 ft. away from other students.
- Each classroom will have additional masks provided by the district.
- Each classroom will also have hand sanitizer and hand soap that will be used throughout the day. "Washing" breaks will be included in each student's day.
Breakfast:
- Students will be supplied with a Grab-n-Go Breakfast in their appropriate hallway.
- Breakfasts will be bagged with all needed supplies within the bags.
- Students will eat in their classrooms.
Water Fountains:
- We recommend your student(s) bring a water bottle to limit use of water fountains.
Contact tracing:
- Teachers will keep a roster for every homeroom, for every day students are present and will record who they come in contact with that day.
- For example: on the roster for "Monday" - we will know all students who are in that homeroom- what bus they rode- what adults worked in their rooms, what unified arts teacher they had that day, etc.
- We will keep these logs on file.
Visitors:
- Because of all of the contact tracing and the need to keep exposure to a minimum, we will not be permitting visitors or volunteers into the school.
Lunch:
- Students will eat lunch in their classroom.
- Students may go through the line to collect their food and belongings.
- We have marked 6 feet apart in the cafe.
- Lunch itself will be contactless.
- The lunch menu will be pushed out so that students know their option.
- There will be some "hot" choices, but they will be foiled.
- Lunches will be put in individual bags with condiments, and disposable wrapped utensils for students.
- There will be NO trays used for lunches this year.
- Students will also have scheduled time before AND after lunch for washing.
- "Extras" are available, though currently limited in selection.
- "Extras" must be purchased, they cannot be charged.
We recognize some positives in this situation. Due to acoustics and sound, our cafeteria can become loud, and several students may find solace in the quieter environment.
Unified Arts:
- UA instruction will take place in the classroom.
- Physical Education will occur outside as often as possible.
Recess:
- Students will continue to have recess.
- Students do not have to wear a mask at recess.
- We will keep classes together at recess.
- We will be creative so that students can have fun. :)
Dismissal:
- We will continue to dismiss as normal - 3:40 p.m.
- Car riders will go to the gym instead of sitting on both sides of the hallway.
- We will dismiss by individual buses, which would allow for the least number of students in the hallways at a time.
- Parent pick up may be slightly delayed as we will call at a slower rate due to social distancing.
Food Service
- Students that attend in-person instruction will be provided 3 days of meals at the conclusion of their in-person instruction.
Food will be placed on the seat of the buses as it may be difficult for younger students to carry that volume of food out of the building.
Cafe Staff will approach adults in the car rider line for meal service.
Cleaning:
- Each classroom will be disinfected every day.
- We will plan for increased bathroom cleaning during the instructional day.
- We will spray recess materials, such as balls and jump ropes each evening.
To Place an Order for Lunches on Hybrid Days, Please See Below!
Attendance and Participation
Due to compulsory attendance requirements through the Kentucky Department of Education, students are required to participate in their education whether learning in the building or learning from home.
Participation includes:
- Joining Google Meets live
- Watching the recording of the instruction
- Completing assigned work
- Meeting with teacher in small group or one-on-one
Therefore, if a student fails to participate in the instructional process at any time, the following actions are subject to be taken:
- The parent/guardian will be notified by the school the number of days that the student has not participated in the instructional process;
- We will work with the parent/guardian and the student to create a plan to overcome the reason(s) why the student is not participating; and
- After communicating with the school, if the student continues to not participate in in the instructional process, then staff from the Office of the Director of Pupil Personnel will communicate to the parent/guardian that failure to correct the student’s behavior immediately may result in legal action being taken by the school district in accordance with the Compulsory Education Law.
If you have questions, especially questions regarding Google Classrooms and/or assignments, please reach out to the teacher.

Student Fees
School fees have been assigned to all students. They are $60.00 for the 2020-2021 school year. They will show as a General Fee and an Agenda Fee. The Agenda Fee for this year will serve as a Technology Fee so we can keep the tuition at an even amount for parents. These fees will insure that all students will be receiving all supplies for the classroom that are available for student use. During this time in the pandemic, it will also insure that we have programs available and assignments prepared for home use.
There are three ways to make payment:
- Online via the Parent Portal of Infinite Campus
- Check/Money Order made payable to Goodridge Elementary. Please reference student’s name/grade in the memo line.
- Cash payments are accepted, with check/money order being preferred. Thank you for all you do as our students begin this new school year.

PTA
We are looking for new PTA leadership this year! A new board means fresh ideas and new events! The Goodridge PTA General Assembly Meeting will be held on September 30th at 6:00pm through ZOOM. During this meeting, elections will be held for PTA officers and other items that require a consent vote. We have to complete this process so our PTA can return to business and to be able to use the funds that have been raised to support our students. They are currently working with the school to provide water bottle refill stations, but cannot do this officially until an election is held and a budget is passed.
Our slate of officers is:
President: Amanda Severns
Treasurer: Brittany Ballman
Secretary: Sarah Couch
Vice President or Membership: Ashley Leiprecht
If you want to be considered for election, or any general questions, please email goodridge.vpwaysandmeans@yahoo.com. The deadline to be added as a write-in is 12:00pm on September 29th.
PTA Restaurant Night
Calling All Burrito Lovers, Foil your dinner plans and stop by the Chipotle at 2100 Medical Arts Dr in Hebron for our fundraiser on Tuesday, October 06 from 5:00pm - 9:00pm. Repeated Information
In this graphic, the two columns explain the two options available to Boone County families.
Option 1: In-Person Instruction
You are choosing to send your children to the school building for instruction for a various number of days each week.
Option 2: Virtual Instruction
You are choosing to keep your students learning at home.
Your decision is a semester commitment.
Option 1: In-Person Instruction
If you choose Option 1: In-Person Instruction, your students' instruction could fall into one of three scenarios at any time, depending on the COVID-19 Restrictions determined by the state and health department.
Scenarios include:
Green Status: When safety guidelines are reduced and/or eliminated, all who choose in-person instruction could come to the school building Monday - Friday.
Yellow Status: We are currently in Yellow Status due to State restrictions. Depending upon the number of families who choose Virtual Instruction, In-Person & Remote Learning could proceed in several different ways.
We are unsure on how to proceed until we see how many families choose Option 2: Virtual Instruction. Depending on how many families choose to learn at home, we might be able to accommodate a certain percentage daily.
Here are two examples of possible hybrid models:
AACBB (½ of the student population would come on A days, C is remote for everyone, B days are for the other 1/2 of students)
A - B Week (M-Th) Friday would be remote - (½ of students attend A week, while the other ½ attends the following week.)
There will be a common remote learning day regardless of the hybrid model selected simply for disinfecting and cleaning purposes. We have very rigid guidelines for the cleaning and disinfecting that we will be doing to keep everything as sanitary as required for a safe and healthy environment.
Remote Learning:
Remote Learning could also look a number of ways. Students could be completing their protocol minutes for Lexia, Dreambox, ST Math, etc. while remote learning. Many students will also receive work to complete at home. They will also have access to recorded lessons and activities, in addition to small group instruction. Teachers may have “office hours” if needed.
Red Status: Much like March, should the Governor order all school buildings to once again close, we would all be included in Virtual Instruction.
Option 2: Virtual Instruction
If you choose Option 2: Virtual Instruction, your students will be learning virtually from home for, at least, the first semester of the school year.
Please note that we cannot guarantee that Virtual Instruction will be delivered by Goodridge Elementary teachers. This option would require up to 4 hours of on-line instruction, 5 days each week. Attendance is a requirement, with scheduled times to be on-line throughout the day. Chromebooks will be picked-up on a scheduled date at Goodridge Elementary.
