This week, Nov. 14th-18th is Parent Teacher Conference week at Park Village. Students will be dismissed at 12:15 p.m. each day. Click here to see the minimum day schedule for the week. Teachers are looking forward to meeting with parents/guardians to share and celebrate student progress. Synergy ParentVUE online access to progress reports will be available Wednesday, November 30. Directions to access progress reports on Synergy (English Spanish) are also linked in our school website's Google calendar.

Friends of the Foundation Spotlight - Sunray Pediatric Dentistry

Patients accepted: All children ages 0 to 18. We love new patients and recommend first appointments prior to one year of age. Children with autism and those who may benefit from a doctor and team who will get to know them individually will find a prepared dental home here. This is “the place” for children to overcome dental anxiety or past negative experiences.

Sunray’s Mission is… to help children overcome challenges that stand in the way of receiving quality dentistry. In Dr. Hall’s own words: “My goal at Sunray is to cultivate confidence with kids as they succeed with us, and then see that confidence follow them out the door into the rest of their lives!”

Dr. Danny Hall… is a PQ native and Park Village Elementary alumnus! He is a husband and father of three kids (ages 2,5,8), with a real passion for helping children overcome challenges that stand in the way of receiving quality dental care. When “off the clock,” he enjoys tennis and outdoor adventures. His dental degree (DMD) was earned at Case School of Dental Medicine, and his pediatric dental specialty certificate was earned at Nova Southeastern University.

We’re located… in Torrey Highlands, overlooking the Westview High School football field. Our new practice is calm, modern, and child-focused, with an environment that encourages success during appointments. The office is ADA-compliant.

Please Help Increase Our School Funding by Filling Out This Application!

Although school meals are now free to all students, the application for free and reduced-price meals is still very important. School funding depends in part on the number of students at our school who qualify for free or reduced-price meals. With all students now eating for free, fewer families are completing the application and our school is at risk of losing much-needed educational funds. Plus, students who qualify for free or reduced-price meals may also be missing out on discounts on bus transportation, before and after school care, and home internet!

Even if you did not qualify before, but your income has changed, you may now qualify. For example, children from a family of four are eligible if the total gross (pre-tax) household income is less than $4,279 per month, or less than $51,338 per year. Household income information is confidential and applying online is quick and easy. Apply online at MySchoolApps.com, or pick up a paper application in the school office.

CALIFORNIA HEALTHY KIDS SURVEY:

Dear Parents,

Park Village Elementary and the Poway Unified School District are conducting a survey of parents as part of our school and district continuous improvement process. We value parent input greatly and appreciate your participation in the short survey found at the link below. The survey answers should be specific to our school site. If you have students at more than one school, you will need to do a separate survey for that school using that school’s link.

The Parent survey is aligned with the state mandated California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS) given to students in grades 5, 7, 9 and 11, and the individual site Staff Survey also to be conducted this month. We will be using these student, staff, and parent surveys to gain a better understanding of our parents’ view of our schools and how we can best support our students. All of the survey results will be used as part of our state required Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP).
