What is Anthropology?

Anthropology is the study of HUMANITY, it all it's aspects. There are four general fields of anthropology.

Physical Anthropology

Physical anthropology studies the human body, as well as the bodies of other primate species.

Archaeology studies the physical remains of past cultures.

Cultural Anthropology

Cultural anthropology studies contemporary cultures around the world today.

Linguistics studies how human beings communicate with one another.

So What?

Understanding humanity is essential in understanding humanity's current situation and predicaments. In addition, many important jobs (both private- and public-sector) rely on an understanding of human behaviour. In addition, issues of human diversity, equity and ethics can only be truly understood once one understands all the ways in which it is possible to be human.
