Counselor's Corner with Ms. McKnight
This month we are focusing on Empathy. Empathy is the ability to understand and connect to the feelings of another. This character trait is one of the most important skills for our students to know. When we switch places and perspectives with others, we can imagine what they are going through and judge each other less. Take time to talk to your child about a time when you felt heard and understood and how it made your feel. Have them practice seeing things from a different perspective. Discuss how using empathy can help resolve a conflict or solve a problem. If we all continue to practice empathy, we could help make a better school and a better world to live in!
