EXTON ELEMENTARY
Welcome Back Letter
Welcome Back to a New School Year and Welcome to all of our new families!
Greetings!
Well, summer break seems to have come and gone much too quickly. I do hope that everyone has enjoyed the break. Enjoy the last week! As I am excited to have our students return, I am sure you are just as excited to be sending them back! I was able to enjoy a week in OC, MD and a week in the Riviera Maya, Mexico. Even though they were great trips, my best summer outing was to the Crayola Experience with my granddaughter.
Jo and I made it back home (to Exton) last Tuesday from Fernhill. We have pretty much been relegated to the main office area. We've been busy unpacking, and we're beginning to feel a little more organized.
This has been a trying summer with cleaning and construction. Our custodial staff, with the help of other district custodial staff, has been hard at work getting the building clean and safe for everyone’s return while working around the construction crew and electricians. When you see them, please thank them for all of their hard work.
Construction will continue throughout the year and through next summer as well. Construction will not have any impact on the school day. Workers will not have need to be in the building. However, if at any time they need to be, they all have clearances. I will continue to give updates as I have them.
During the year, I plan to hold two book discussion groups. I will offer an AM and PM session. The books for discussion will be Mindset by Carol Dweck and The Gift of Failure: How the Best Parents Learn to Let Go So Their Children Can Succeed by Jessica Lahey. Please consider participating when the information comes. They are both really good reads.
It’s going to be a great year and I'm looking forward to having my babies back. I hope everyone is as excited as I am.
Remember, NO SNEAK-A-PEEK ON THURSDAY
