Welcome Back!
Welcome back!!!! I hope you all had an outstanding fall break! Fred, Keith, Yesenia, Lorena and I all really checked out and it felt so good to truly step away.
As we ease back into the swing of things this week, let's commit to giving each other an extra dose of grace, kindness, and empathy. Realizing that we all show up to Penn each day with our own feelings, experiences, personal lives, families, political views, fears, social dilemmas, etc., let's make sure we're filling each other's buckets, building each other up, remembering the power of our words, and being there for one another. I start to get all the feels of Thanksgiving in early fall, so even though it's 95 degrees, I'm still running on pumpkin spice lattes and my gratitude for each of you and the gifts and talents you share with your students and each other every single day.
Speaking of pumpkin spice lattes, as a part of the "Share Love & Spread Hope to Team Penn" campaign just before break, a few parents came together to make sure there was a coffee run this week! Wahoo! Be sure to fill out this form by Tuesday to make sure you get your coffee order in before Thursday morning's delivery.
In hope,
Amy

Teachers:
If you have kids at the YMCA who are not submitting work or participating in Zooms, please tell me immediately or work with Hunter directly. The Y is committed to supporting us during DL but they can only engage when they know there is a problem. Hunter is so willing and ready to help us as needed. I met with him several times and over the break to discuss our expectations. Thank you!

Themed Resource Pick-up: October 30th!
In our last leadership team meeting, we talked about a themed student resource pick up for October 30th. The goal would be to foster a sense of community and spread some joy and fun in a safe way while following all health protocols and guidelines. Even if your grade level was not planning to do a pick-up on the 30th, all students will have a treat bag available for pick up on this date. Please plan for the following:
Provide the regular allotted amount of work for your students on October 30th.
Adjust your daily schedule to accommodate an 11:00 am - 2:00 pm pickup.
We will be hosting a one-way supply pick up route through campus. If you would like to greet students while safely socially distancing from your supply pick-up area, you are welcome to join us during this time. We are allowing students to come in costume, so feel free to do the same if you would like.
The school will be supplying a “goodie bag” for all students; please add it to your supply pick up materials for the week.

Spirit Day - October 21st!
Panthergiving 2020! Are you in need? Looking for a way to help?
Are you a Penngove family in need of financial help to make a Thanksgiving meal happen this year? Or maybe you're a Penngrove family able to give back to another Penngrove family? Two students are trying to connect families in need this Thanksgiving holiday with families that can help out.
Please fill out this form to let us know if you need help or want to donate to this great cause. All information will be kept confidential, with only office staff knowing the names of families involved.
Thank you in advance for helping to make this project happen. The Penngrove community truly is the BEST!

Pre-Made Panther Supply Kits
The #PennPTA is holding on to hope that our #PennPanthers will be on campus during the 2020/21 school year. To assist with the requirement for individual student supplies we have created the opportunity for families to purchase a pre-made Panther Supply Kit for $26 per student. Buying the items individually will not only cost more, but will also take more of your precious time and hassle shopping around. Supply kits will be delivered to the classroom prior to on-campus learning resuming.
If for any reason in-person classes do not resume this year, the supplies will still be used by the current classes and sent home in distance learning packets.
PTA has pre-purchased enough supplies for every single student and will provide kits to all students, regardless of their ability to purchase one. Our goal is to break even on the costs of supplies versus the sales. If there is a surplus in sales, the money will be reflected on an amended PTA budget and be funnelled right back into creating magic for our community. Families are typically asked to contribute money towards field trips, but unfortunately this school year field trips are highly unlikely. We have also included the opportunity to donate a kit to the school.
Kits are available online to purchase on the #PennPTA website, here. We do not have a deadline to order while on distance learning, thank you for your support!
