Spring BOGO Book Fair

The Spring Book Fair is May 1 through May 10, and will be open during Open House on May 10 at 5 pm.

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED! If you have never helped out with a book fair, it is a lot of fun! Time slots are flexible: please use the online book fair sign up.

Everyone loves this fair because you save lots of money and buy books to last you through the summer. The free item is of equal or less in value. Mrs. Lightstone often helps students and their families save money and sometimes that means that they buy their book at half price instead of buy one get one free. Inventory for this sale moves quickly so try to visit before Open House on May 10th!

Field Day - Volunteers Needed

Vernfield's Annual Field Day is coming up on Friday, May 18th (rain date, Friday May 25th)! Mr. Gross is currently looking for volunteers to help run the activities that day. If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up!

Thank you to all the Earth Day volunteers who came out on a sunny, but chilly day to enjoy time with our kids - planting seeds in the garden, maintaining the nature trail, learning about animals and caring for our Earth.

Special thanks to the following local organizations who donated their time and resources to support Vernfield's Earth Day:

  • Lindsey Tree Removal
  • Old Dutch Cupboard
  • AARK Wildlife and Rehabilitation Center

Reading Olympics

This Wednesday, May 2, 2018, over 50 of our 4th and 5th grade students will be participating in Reading Olympics, a friendly competition that celebrates literature. These students have been attending bimonthly meetings since November in preparation for this event. There were approximately 45 books on this year's list from a variety of genres. Best of luck to our Vernfield Reading Olympians!
