Term 3 Week 5

Kia ora

It's lovely to have the tamariki back at school recovered from their illnesses. Thank you for keeping them at home whilst they have been unwell.

Toys at school

We ask that toys are left at home as they can cause distraction during learning time and upset children if they are lost or broken. On occasion we may invite the children to bring a toy to school, but this will be communicated by email prior. We do have soft toys at school that the children are allowed to play with or cuddle if they need to.

We understand that some children have comfort toys/blankets that they need to have with them. We think that this has caused other tamariki to choose to bring their toys to school too. If your child has a comfort toy then we encourage them to leave it in their bag or tote tray during the day. Please let us know if this is the case so that we can support them with this. Thank you.

Helping at School

We are grateful to those of you who have recently offered to help out at school. Under the orange setting we are able to welcome you into the classroom - mask wearing is required. If you would like to volunteer some time to help in Uenuku then please let us know and we will get back in touch with you to arrange details.

Whole School PB4L Reward Day

This will take place next Monday, 29th August. More information will follow in a whole school notice.

Daily reminders

  • Classrooms open at 8:30am. Prior to this teachers may be in meetings or busy preparing for the day and are not available to supervise the children.
  • Please provide a change of clothes in your child's bag. It's also helpful to have a warm jersey and a raincoat even if the weather seems warm and dry in the morning.
  • Please check your child's school bag each day - they may have a new reading book in their book bag, a notice, or have some of their wonderful creations to share. Wet/dirty clothes might be a possibility too!
  • Please send your child with a water bottle every day.
