MUSTANG MINUTE
SEPTEMBER
SEPTEMBER 19, 2022
Greetings Mustangs,
I hope that you were able to enjoy a restful and relaxing weekend. The fall colors are certainly making their appearance and we are quickly approaching the half-way mark of quarter one. This is an opportune time to make sure that you have no missing assignments and that you are communicating with your teachers.
As the leaves begin to fall and the days are getting shorter students can lose their focus. I would like to remind students and parents the importance of not just attending classes but also the importance of being engaged in their classes. A missed school day is a lost opportunity for learning. We like to have our Mustang students at school everyday.
Sincerely,
Megan J. Hatswell
Principal-Chugiak High School

Seniors will upload their senior portrait, choose their senior quote, complete a survey for more chances to be in the yearbook, and reserve their senior sweats. This should take about 10-15 minutes to complete if your student has their senior portrait saved on their device. Seniors must be logged into their ASD Google account in order to access the form. Alaska Safe Children’s Act
Chugiak High School will be teaching the Alaska Safe Children’s Act/ Personal Safety. Our teachers will present an age-appropriate lesson about personal body safety in a non-threatening way, along with the skills needed for self-protection. The focus of the lessons will be to empower students with the information and skills to protect themselves and seek help from the physical, psychological and emotional harm that can occur from abusive situations. These lessons are a part of the Anchorage School District’s plan to enact the Alaska Safe Children’s Act and will be handled in a sensitive, respectful manner.
