Pirate Parent Newsletter

October 28, 2020 (Volume I Issue 1)

Dear Parent(s) and Guardian(s):

Greetings! Thank you for your support of our school as we work together to help our scholars meet their graduation requirements and establish choice-filled futures.

Due to Dekalb County's COVID-19 data, we will remain in Phase I until the positive cases are below 100 per 100k for a 14-day average. The Georgia Department of Health reported 144 cases per 100k in Dekalb County yesterday, October 27, 2020. Please take a few minutes to complete the Intent to Return Survey in the section below. Parents must select one of the two options: Distant/Remote Learning (remain at home) or Hybrid Learning (one day of in-person learning during Phase III). At this time, we do not have the Change of Intent Form available for parents to switch their selections.

We are at the half way mark of first semester. The 9-Week Progress Reports will be available in the Parent Portal tomorrow, October 29, 2020. If you need assistance with Parent Portal, please email Ms. Tanaya Thomas, our Parent Liaison. Our Parent Teacher Conference Night is scheduled for next Thursday, November 5, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Please review flyer with details to sign-up for a conference slot with your child's teacher(s).

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me directly.

Your Proud Principal,

Dr. John
