Our Community
Learning about our Community Helpers
We have been learning all about the people in our community and how they help us. We have explored many different types of jobs and have met several important helpers. We were fortunate to be able to talk to "real, live" community helpers from our area.
A Visit from our Police
Ali is enjoying seeing the police car's lights and sirens.
Officer Lively came and talked to the students about his job and ways that we can stay safe.
Each student was allowed to get into the police car to get a closer look.
A Visit from our Military
Lt. Chris Auger tells the students about his job as a Civil Engineer in the Navy.
He explains all the different possibilities that our Armed Forces provide.
Lt. Auger showed pictures of the bridges, buildings, and schools that he has helped build around the world.
Saying "Thank You" to our School Helpers
Our class also learned about the community helpers we see everyday. We made posters to say "thank you" to our custodians and cafeteria personnel for all they do to help our school be a beautiful and safe place.
Learning about Community Helpers has been fun! I hope you have enjoyed seeing what we have learned.
