October 26 - Weekly Newsletter - Ms. Dana & Ms. Terry
It's hard to believe that we are nearing the end of October! Just a reminder that Friday, the 30th is the date for our Halloween celebration. The parade which takes place in front of the building in the parking circle, will begin promptly at 9:15 so please have your children in our room by 9:00. The sing-a-long lead by our music teacher Johnny Cuomo, will be held in the gymnasium. After the sing-a-long we will return to the classroom, remove our costumes and resume our morning schedule. A couple of parents have asked me about the music. These are the four songs we will be singing:
Old Mac Spooky (to the tune of Old Mac Donald), Fly Through My Window, Spooky, Spooky, Halloween Night and finally Mouse's Halloween which is a call and response chant featuring the shakers.
All of the photos posted this week are examples of the children participating in Practical Life activities. We continue to practice completing an entire work cycle. -This involves choosing a work, removing it from the shelf, navigating the classroom in order to find a work space, completing the work, doing any necessary clean-up and finally returning the work to the shelf in exactly the same condition it was found so it's ready for the next person.
