NOTEWORTHY NEWS BY MRS. FOSTER
WEEK OF JANUARY 12, 2014
CAMP ACADEMICS
GREETINGS
I hope everyone had a great holiday break. Half of my break was fine until I caught the Flu, and then my daughter caught the Flu, and then my husband came down with something other than the Flu, but he was just as miserable.
This is the last week of the six weeks and the end of the first semester. As they say, " Time marches on."
READING/WRITING
Our testing is complete! Some students changed reading groups, so their reading folder changed colors. We are learning about making inferences in reading. We are working on quotation marks, compound words, the long e sound, plural nouns, and adjectives.
MATH
We are going back to place value with 10's and 1's. This is a good time to get out the dimes and pennies to help with this concept.
SCIENCE
We are learning about natural sources of water. We will learn the difference between fresh water and salt water.
SOCIAL STUDIES
We will be discussing the availability of resources in in our community.
PEARLS OF WISDOM
Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.
