Holiday Gift of Giving
We're so grateful to report that all of the tags have "disappeared" from the giving tree. Thank you so much for your generosity. Please remember that if you took a tag, kindly return the wrapped gift with the tag firmly attached by next Tuesday, December 16th. Even if you were too late to select a gift tag, you're not too late to help. We still need monetary donations to supply our families with food and household items. Any amount is appreciated. You can send a check (payable to Gayman Elementary) in with your child in an envelope labeled "Holiday Gift of Giving".
During this season of celebration and generosity, it is such a valuable lesson for our children to learn the importance of helping others who are less fortunate.

December Boomerang Award
This year, Gayman will continue to accept nominations for the Boomerang Award, which is our way of honoring students who best demonstrate their own developmental assets. What are Developmental Assets? Students possessing a combination of “40 Assets” are typically most successful in school and in life. These assets have the power to influence choices young people make and help them become caring, responsible adults. For a complete listing of the 40 Developmental Assets and the Nomination form please click on the link below:

A Huge Thank You From The Library
The Library Thanks YOU!
Thank you to all who baked and/or came out on Thursday night to support the library’s bake sale. Because of your support, we will be able to add more beanbags to the library’s new comfy, cozy reading section. The area is already getting much use, and as you can see from the photo, the kids are LOVING it!
We also have a family making floor pillows for us, and are looking for a couple old beanbags to use to stuff the pillows. Please contact Mrs. Thomas (hthomas@cbsd.org) if you are able to help out!
Thank you, as always, for your support of the library!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Thomas

Parents Advisory Meeting - November 5, 2014
Mrs. Orford, Gayman's Parents Advisory Representative, attended Dr. Weitzel's PAC meeting on November 5, 2014. Several topics were covered with the major focus on the upcoming PSSA tests.
Attendees were directed to view English PSSA Samples from Grades 3 and 7. Recently there was a very interesting article in The Daily Intelligencer about the new PSSA exams. The article contained a link for parents to send comments directly to the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Please take the time to review and article and the PSSA sample questions.
