Valhalla Pride - June 30, 2021
Have a great summer break!
Have a fun summer break! 😎🌻🌞
Hello Valhalla Community!
We have had a very smooth and successful summer session! We have enjoyed building relationships with each other, learning, growing, gardening and connecting at school. Sharing our campus with our neighbors from Hidden Valley was a blast, we will miss them! We had a very profitable fundraiser featuring Cousins Maine Lobster, thanks VPFA! There have been many visitors to our site including Dr. Clark, Superintendent, Dr. Lisa Gonzales, CBO, with her representatives from TIS, purchasing, maintenance and operations and facilities, Jeff West and Brian Patterson from Building & Grounds, Mrs. Calbeck our director, & Mr. Kevin Honey, Principal of College Park!!! Our site tech, Tina Deane has been working hard with our office, district personnel, and two interns from Mount Diablo HS to get our tech ready for next year! We are also so lucky that Athens Painting will be sprucing up our campus during July!
Tomorrow, Thursday, July 1 and Friday July 2, the office will be open from 8 am - noon.
We will be closed beginning Monday, July 5, and will return Monday, August 2, with regular office hours of 8am – 3:30 pm. Please mark your calendars for Tuesday, August 10 for all in one-day registration and August 12, the first day of school! While we do not know any restrictions, we are planning on full days in person and will continue the Valhalla tradition of eating outside.
Our school hours will be 8:08am - 2:45pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and 8:08am - 1:00pm Wednesday for all Kindergarteners through 5th graders and 8:08am - 11:45am Monday through Friday for our TKers.
We thank you for all of your hard work and support this year, and are super excited to see you all in August!
Sincerely,
Miss Pappas
A Note from VPFA:
Dear Valhalla Families,
We made it! We have survived through the strangest (and likely most-challenging) school year in our lifetimes. Pat yourselves on the back for making it through!
The VPFA board is hard at work this summer creating a calendar of events for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year. We are so excited that all students will be back on campus next year and that the Valhalla community that we know and love will be back in person. But we need YOU to make this happen. Without additional volunteers, many of our beloved events won’t be able to happen – from our Welcome Back Dinner Dance, to Valhalloween to the Auction Gala in the spring.
I mean it when I say that volunteering through VPFA has been the best way for me to meet other parents and make great friends. If you would like more information, please check out our webpage www.valhallavpfa.com and click on the VPFA Manual link. Or you can email vpfapresident@gmail.com with specific questions or if you would like to sign yourself up to help. We would love to have new faces representing our diverse population take on some of the currently open positions. Keep an eye out on Facebook and Konstella for open positions that we need to fill.
We will see everyone at All-in-One on August 10!
Thank you,
Marni Hutchins
VPFA President
