Mrs. Boschen's Weekly News
September 21 - September 25, 2015
This Week's News
Students have completed reading their novels and we are preparing to present these through a book talk presentation this week. Students have a lot of information to share with their classmates about the elements of their story. We are working on using notes instead of reading their presentation to their classmates as part of this presentation. I look forward to hearing about some great books!
We are wrapping up our presentations on citizenship. After students have presented and received feedback from myself and their peers, they will have one final opportunity to make adjustments to their work before submitting it for assessment. We are continuing to work on reading assignments carefully to be sure that we are completing all of the required elements, and so I am encouraging everyone to take advantage of feedback to support each other.
Book Orders
Tuesday I am sending home the first set of books orders for the year. As a teacher, I have discovered that the selection of books is typically better at the beginning of the year, so this is the perfect opportunity to start finding good quality books for your child to be reading!
There is an online ordering process if you prefer to use that to place your order, and there are many more titles available through the online catalogs. You can also simply send in your order form to me (cash or check made out to Scholastic). I will collect orders through next Monday, September 28. Remember, books that you order through this program give our classroom points from which to buy books (and I have identified several that I would like to purchase for our classroomJ)!
Below is the link to get to our class ordering page. The class code is also listed.
