Newsletter Term 4 Week 3
Patumahoe School 3rd of November 2021
Kia ora and greetings everybody
Thank you to everybody who participated in our Virtual Calf Club. We have a Virtual Assembly this Friday showcasing the Calf Club. A big thank you to the Calf Club committee for your work.
The Government has indicated that the 15th of November is the potential return to school date for Auckland Level 3 schools. Over the past week, I have been in discussions with a number of Auckland principal's around the return to school and how it may work logistically. These discussions have provided the necessary information for the Ministry of Education to make an informed and sensible return to school plan. At this point in time, I know very little about what this potential return to school will look like. So I will await the MOE advice which will likely coincide with the next big government announcement on Monday the 8th of November.
In the meantime, I trust you are as well as could be expected. I thank you for your efforts with distance learning. New sports shirts for our students have just arrived. Paladin were the suppliers and Pelorus Trust funding made it possibloe. Whenever, we get back into sporting action, we will be looking very sharp.
If you are in the mood for a sporting fix, our Blackcaps cricket team are in action over the next few nights in the T20 World Cup. They face Scotland tonight, followed by Namibia on Friday evening, and then Afghanistan on Sunday night. All games are must win if they hope to qualify for the semifinals. If you are not already a cricket fan, then I recommend watching T20 cricket as an easy way to 'dip your toes in'. Soon enough you'll be a convert to the great game.
