Mother Goose on the Loose: Superstar!
Babies can communicate with sign language long before they can talk. We incorporate a few signs with some of our songs and rhymes at MGOL, but Miss Hazel could teach us all much more! She is already an ASL pro. Hazel is always excited to see her friends at Mother Goose on the Loose and signs "baby" when she sees them... even those older than her! She has an infectious smile and is a joyful participant. Hazel is a MGOL Superstar!
Mother Goose on the Loose, a program for infants and toddlers, is offered twice a week at the library: Wednesdays & Thursdays at 9:30am.

Build Skills Every Day
Little interactions every day can add up to a BIG foundation for learning.
- Talk: Take a walk through the farmer's market. Point out colors, name produce, describe the weather.
- Sing: Sing some silly bathtime songs!
- Read: Set out a basket of books and let your child choose the bedtime story. Self-selection is an important step in developing a love of reading.
- Write: Draw simple shapes and name them while your toddler is scribbling. She will soon try to imitate you.
- Play: Play "Simon Says". It's not only a great way to practice following instructions, but can be used to reinforce new vocabulary as well.
Go Ahead... Sing!
(Tune: Oh, My Darling Clementine)
Picked a strawberry, picked a strawberry,
that was growing in the sun.
Then I washed it and I ate it,
then I picked another one.
Picked a blueberry, picked a blueberry,
that was growing in the sun.
Then I washed it and I ate it,
then I picked another one.
What else will you pick?
