Recipe Intro

I picked this recipe for our Italian unit in intro to cooking because I needed to choose a desert and this looked like a good recipe. I've never had biscotti as well so that made it look interesting to make to me. It tasted better than I thought it would and was very happy with this recipe choice.


The yield for this recipe was 6. This was cut back from the original recipe which had a yield of 15.

Ingredients/ Equipment


5 ounces butter

2/3 cups & 2 teaspoon white sugar

2 eggs

1/2 teaspoon anise extract

3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups & all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

3/4 teaspoon baking powder

3 ounces chopped almonds

Gather ingredients

Preheat the oven

Step 3

Cream butter and sugar in mixer

Step 4

Add eggs one at a time

Step 5

Stir in anise extract and vanilla extract

Step 6

Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt.

Step 7

Add sifted ingredients and chopped almonds to egg mixture

Step 8

Stir with a spoon and as the dough comes together knead by hand
