FABCAMP 2022
- WHEN: Wednesdays: July 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th; 9am - 12pm each day
- DESCRIPTION: An online STEM-education maker camp for middle and high school girls who are curious about cars, how they work, and who makes them. This camp will focus on the construction of a custom driving simulator built from a car. Each week the Athena Racing team will unveil a new stage in the building process – starting with a pile of parts and scrap metal all the way to cutting, welding, and painting the final product with students learning about tools, work processes, and manufacturing techniques along the way. Every session will feature female STEM professionals providing career exploration activities.
LAND + SEA + AIR TRANSPORTATION CAMP
- WHEN: July 25-29, 2022; 2pm - 5:30pm
- DESCRIPTION: This camp guides students in exploring all of the aspects and roles within the transportation industry, including engineers, artists, mechanics, fabricators, business leaders, builders, communicators, inventors, test pilots/drivers and more. Each day of camp will feature a different topic on transportation and mobility – from motorcycles and submarines to airplanes and spacecraft. Students will go behind-the-scenes at companies, have one-on-one conversations with female STEM professionals, and listen to industry panels to learn about the many interesting careers in transportation and the skills needed to succeed in them.
CAREER DEVELOPMENT CAMP
- WHEN: August 1-5, 2022; 9am - 11am
- DESCRIPTION: This camp is for students who want to create a stand-out resume to land internships, scholarships, and acceptances to colleges. Students will learn how to identify their strengths, develop in-demand skills, and market themselves to employers. The camp will also feature speakers who will help students focus on their “future selves” and provide them the steps to attain their dream career.
