We're excited about our first Monthly Mixer, scheduled for September 2nd. During our September Mixer students will rotate to activities from 9:30-11:30. Activities include mindfulness and relaxation activities, such as journaling, yoga, game rooms and packing snack bags for residents at The Relatives. The Relatives is a Youth Crisis center, working to provide support and resources for youth. Looking forward to seeing you on September 2nd! Thank you to our wonderful Cato MCHS parents for donating items for the snack bags.
The first purchase window for CPCC textbooks closes on August 31. For classes that began on August 15th, students can no longer purchase books or codes after August 31st. No exceptions.
Kona Ice will be back on Friday, September 2nd, 12:30-1:30.
Monday, September 5 is Labor Day. Classes will not be held for Cato MCHS nor CPCC.
Progress Reports for high school classes will be distributed on Wednesday, Sept. 7. As a reminder, all high school teachers tutor. CPCC has Academic Learning Centers if you need help in your college classes.
We're excited to continue our partnership with Joseph W. Grier Academy, a PreK -5th grade school beside Cato MCHS. Approximately 60 Cato scholars have signed up to partner with assigned teachers to support student achievement at Grier.

GRADE LEVEL PROGRAM EVALUATION REVIEW
We will have a program evaluation review to ensure you are aware of your remaining degree requirements. Please arrive promptly. I will give you an unofficial copy of your transcript.

LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION
Grade 13 and Graduating 12th grade students,
When requesting letters of recommendation in Naviance, it must be a Cato staff member. If requesting recommendations outside of Cato make that request in the Other Recommender section of Common App. You may also request your recommender to send a letter via US Mail. Provide them with the college's office of admissions address.
Please contact your teachers or anyone that you are requesting a letter of recommendation from asking for the recommendation letter prior to them getting the automated request via Naviance or Common App.
On Common App you will be reporting your weighted rank and GPA. 4.0 scale.
SCHOLARSHIPS

The University Honors Program at North Carolina A&T State University is elated to accept applications for the awarding of three university prestigious scholarship programs for incoming first-year freshmen who plan to enroll in Fall 2023.

Naviance
We are in the process of updating your email address in Naviance to your CPCC email address. Please remember that your Naviance email address (CPCC email) needs to be the one you use when creating your Common App account. Naviance and Common App email addresses must be the same to match the accounts. See me if you have questions.
As you know our 2 primary platforms to use with our college application process is with Naviance and Common App. Another resource you may use with career planning, scholarships, financial aid and other college admissions topics is via CFNC (College Foundation of North Carolina.) You can create an account or you can simply use the site as a resource.
