Updates on graduation and the senior experience
Spring Lake Park High School Seniors and Families:
The spring of a student’s senior year is a time of milestone moments. After a few unusual springs, we’re really looking forward to the coming weeks – the final weeks — with our graduating seniors at Spring Lake Park High School.
We want to make sure students and families know what’s happening. We will keep you informed with occasional updates like these. In addition, we’ll be building out SpringLakeParkSchools.org/Graduation as your “graduation hub” for information and updates.
This week, here are a few topics we want you to be aware of:
- Commencement: Our in-person commencement ceremony is Saturday, June 11, at noon at Mariucci Arena. We’ll have much more information to share with you as we get closer to the date. Please make sure you have this date and time held on your calendars. Commencement generally lasts around 90 minutes.
- Yard signs: Once again, the Panther Foundation will be providing each member of the Class of 2022 with one free yard/window sign. We expect the signs to arrive in early May and will provide information on distribution in our next update. A limited number of additional signs will be available for purchase from the Panther Store.
- Decision Day – April 29: Decision Day celebrates the post-secondary plans of our graduating class. We ask students to wear gear representing their plans for next year – college, career, military, etc. We’ll take each student’s photo and celebrate these important decisions with cupcakes.
- Senior survey - opens April 29: All seniors are asked to complete the senior survey in Naviance. It will open on Decision Day and be available through the end of the school year. This is how students request their FINAL transcript to be sent to their attending college. We ask students complete the survey once they have made their decision on their fall plans. Please encourage your student to complete the survey.
- Caps and gowns: Graduation caps and gowns will be available in mid-May - along with accessories. We’ll share additional information in the coming weeks.
- Senior all night party: An independent group plans the senior all night party each year. While this is not a high school sponsored activity, we do connect students and parents to information about the party on the graduation hub. The party is Friday, June 10, 6:30 p.m.- 12:30 a.m. at Bowlero in Blaine.
We look forward to the celebrations ahead. Watch for these updates every couple of weeks as we share evolving plans for recognizing and celebrating the Class of 2022.
