The Wellwood Globe

Wellwood International Elementary | April 2019

From the Principal's Desk

Happy Spring to everyone! Third quarter report cards will go home April 23. Please log on to BCPS One and review your child’s progress. Encourage them to finish the year strong! There is still a lot of learning to be done, so this is a great time to talk to your child about staying on task, completing homework and class work assignments, and working hard every day.

I hope the children talked at home about our Magnet Schools of America tours that came through to observe our students, classrooms, and I.B. curriculum. Teachers came from all over the country. Fifth graders were our tour guides, and student work was on display.

I also hope you'll stop by the school to see our beautifully prepared flower beds by the front entrance. Third graders planted pansies, and children will be helping to care for our flowers.

Lastly, our fifth graders had the opportunity to attend the 5th grade Pen Pal Ice Cream Social at Pikesville Middle School last week to meet their pen pal before heading off to middle school. If your child couldn't attend, they can still exchange addresses for summer letter writing.

It's been a busy spring so far, and we are proud of all that the children have achieved! Let's finish strong!

Yours truly,

Mrs. O’Neill, Principal
