The Life After Stroke Program
The Life After Stroke Program aims to provide opportunities for people following a stroke to engage in meaningful community based activity (vocational or lifestyle). The program involves one-on-one advocacy and mentoring involving various agencies and volunteer support by Rotary and the Stroke Association of Victoria, thereby avoiding or diminishing incidence of frustration and/or depression amongst stroke survivors and their carers.
The program is currently in the pilot phase, involving relevant organisations within the City of Booroondara.
This forum is a follow up to the initial meeting on the 30th of October 2013. The forum objectives are to determine the assistance Stroke Survivors need, beyond the clinical form, to return to vocational and employment activities. Participants will be given the option to participate in break out sessions on the following topics:
