Kindergarten News
At long last, kindergartners have experienced the Flynn School Library! With the latest version of safety protocols, we can finally share our library space with students. Hard to say who was more excited - the kindergartners or the librarian. The week was spent exploring stations that celebrated the ten Red Clover Book Award nominees. Students imagined how the sea creatures in Crab Cake had to use flippers, fins, and claws to pick up the trash humans had dumped into their habitat by moving recycling with spatulas, oven mitts, and tongs. They made red flowers along the edges of the windows for the Hummingbird. They hopped from one chunk of “ice” to the next like Sea Bear, and they built cities with blocks to get a better sense of how the lost cat felt in Small in the City. And they checked out books from the actual circulation desk instead of in a corner of the hallway! Such excitement!
