Car Rider Drop-Off Reminders

Parents with students that are car riders need to drop off students on the East end of building and not in front of the school. The only students that are to be dropped off in front of the building are students that are boarding buses for NGA and LCHS. As you line up on Cash Road to pick up children afternoon or drop them off morning, please stay on the "right" side of the Cash Road. This will allow property owners who live on Cash Road the ability to exit out of their driveway onto Cash Road and then turn on to Smith Mill Road. After you (drop off/pick-up) your child/children, you will turn right and drive in front of the school and exit the school grounds in our Main Exit on the West Side of the campus. Our main entrance will be utilized by buses and employees in the morning and buses in the afternoon.

All parents/guardians need to display their car hang tag number because we utilize the numbers to match the students. If you have someone else picking up your child/children, please ask them to display a sheet of paper with your child’s number on it.

Car riders are not to be dropped off/picked up in the front of the school unless parents are coming into to meet with a teacher or staff member.

If you need to change your child's mode of transporation, we request you to call by 2 PM unless its an emergency. Calling by 2 PM allows us to notify both the teacher and the student. Please pick up students no later than 2:30 in the afternoon for checkouts. After 2:30, we begin assembling our procedures for car riders and bus riders. Parents/Guardians are not to pick up students in the front at the end of the school day (2:50 PM). Car riders will be dismissed through the car rider line on the East end of the building.

You will use the same car tag & number as you used last year. If you have a student that needs a car rider number, an area will be set up Wednesday morning to register for car rider numbers.

We thank you for your continued help in ensuring safety for all of our student body.

Bad Weather, Snow Days, etc

If weather conditions create a change in the regular school day, announcements regarding early dismissal will be made on WYTM-FM & WEKR-AM (Fayetteville) Radio Stations, School Notify Me, School Facebook and Twitter. Parents will also receive the automated call from the department of education if schools are to be delayed, released early or cancelled. The contact numbers that parents listed for emergency calls were entered in the data base at the beginning of the school year in order to receive these calls. If you change your contact numbers, please update your contact information in the schools office. These announcements will also be made on local Huntsville television stations (19,31, & 48) They will be made on Nashville television stations also. (2,4, & 5). Please try not to call the school unless you need to make changes to your child's transportation.
