Woodbury Junior-Senior High School - Weekly Newsletter

Message from the Principal
Hello parents,
This week was much more mellow than last. Teachers and students were able to refocus and get back into an academic flow after the many activities of Spirit Week.
This return to 'normal' does give me an opportunity to highlight a really prestigious honor one of our high school students received. Senior, Ania Holland, auditioned for, and was selected to perform as a soloist singer during the live Thanksgiving Day parade on 6 ABC! How cool is that?! Our entire Woodbury family will be cheering her on over turkey and cranberry sauce (personal favorite).
Our PTSA is selling shirts for Pink Day (Oct. 27) to raise awareness for breast cancer research; please consider buying a shirt and supporting this worthwhile cause.
Lastly, as part of the strategic planning initiative, the committee for Strand III is attempting to strengthen the connections between our students and members of the community in the working world - particularly local businesses and businesspersons. They have crafted a message for you:
"We need hometown heroes! Strategic Planning Strand III (Career and Technical Education) would like to ask local professionals to open the attached link (click here) and take a brief survey. We are trying to reinvigorate our Hometown Heroes Speaker's Program and are attempting to find individuals interested in meeting and working with students in our school who might want to join the workforce in your area of expertise. Moreover, we are also trying to find more speakers for our Junior HS Career Day and also identify potential partners for Option II internships and professional meetings. We welcome all members of our "extended family" to complete the survey. Expect to be contacted by a member of our Strategic Planning Committee within 2-4 weeks of submitting your response. Great schools are always supported by great communities. We thank you in advance for completing the survey and for your willingness to partner with our student body. Here is the survey."
Thanks and have a great weekend.
Keep Love Present,
Dr. Vivadelli
