This is the moment you've all been waiting for... SPOOKY DUKE VOLUNTEER SIGN UP! Please click on this sign-up link to volunteer for set up, clean up, childcare, and the costume march. You get service hours, you get to hang out with kids, you get to dress up, and you get to support local families! WOOHOO! There are volunteer opportunities for both Friday 10/26 and Saturday 10/27, so sign up wherever you can. I know the Saturday shifts are early but what else are you doing Saturday morning? NOTHING. So sign up!
Also, again, a huge thanks to everyone who is a part of our team! Don't forget the race starts at 9 so get to Peacock Parking Lot before then to sign in and get your t-shirt. If you would still like to walk/run in the race and support Spooky Duke, IT'S NOT TOO LATE! You can still register here. Register before October 24th @ 3pm and pay $20 for the 5k and $30 for the 10k. You can also register the day of if you'd like for $25 for the 5k and $35 for the 10k.

Are you excited for Halloween? Join us at Boone Boo! App Ed will host a booth on King Street during the Boone Boo trick-or-treating event from 5-6 pm on October 31. Need volunteer hours? Sign up to help with handing out candy, face painting, pumpkin decorating, set up, or clean up.

Goods Drive Until October 31
In honor of our 50th anniversaries, the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Fine and Applied Arts and Reich College of Education will host a goods drive focused on the “3 P’s” — personal care items, pasta, and peanut butter and jelly/jams — for Appalachian’s campus food pantry and free store, located in the Office of Sustainability.
Together the colleges are honoring this celebration by giving back to the Appalachian community by gathering basic necessities and goods to help students in times of need. The drive, called “500 for the 50th,” will take place Oct. 1–31 with a goal of collecting at least 500 personal care and/or food items.
Suggested donation items include:
- Toothbrushes and toothpaste
- Deodorant
- Haircare
- Feminine hygiene products
- Soaps/body wash
- Dry pasta
- Gluten Free pasta
- Rice
- Soups (pop-top cans preferred)
- Mac & cheese
- Peanut butter and/or nut butters
- Jellies and jams
Drop-off locations:
- Decorated boxes are by each elevator on floors 1-5
- There is also a box in the James Center for Student Success and Advising
