Truman PR/EL Counselor Corner

February 2022

Happy February! We have loved welcoming all of our student back during the month of January. It has been a great month of setting goals, meeting new students, and getting back into the swing of school. This month is full of exciting events happening in the Truman counseling program.

NPS Kindness Week - February 7-11!

Big picture
NPS Kindness Week is a district-wide kindness initiative that focuses on celebrating kindness. Students learn new and creative ways to be kind and practice sharing kindness with others! The Great Kindness Challenge is one week devoted to performing as many acts of kindness as possible at Truman Primary and Elementary. We also emphasize the importance of kindness not only during this week, but all year long!

National School Counseling Week

National School Counseling Week 2022, “School Counseling: Better Together,” will be celebrated from Feb. 7–11, 2022, to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems and how students are different as a result of what school counselors do. National School Counseling Week highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career.

We are both very thankful to be school counselors within Norman Public Schools.
