SOCIAL GROUP NEWSLETTER

Vol. 13 - May 9, 2016

What happened at the last S.O.A.R session!

Our group had a great time last week playing Engineering Ants and meeting our new friend Ella!!

The group was very excited to meet Ella and add another member to our social group. The kids did a great job introducing themselves and using many of the social skills we've been addressing this year.

I was particularly impressed by what a good job our group did talking about weekly highs and lows. They really enjoyed getting to talk about their week with a new friend!

The group also did a wonderful job answering the social challenge questions we added to the Engineering Ants game!

Our Next Session is this Friday May 13, 2016

What's new!

New Group Activity

This week the kids requested an art day. I will be bringing several different a variety of art projects and coloring supplies for the group to use. We will be creating and judging each other's art pieces.

We will also be going over the rules for commenting on someone else's work as well as our own work. We will go over polite criticism, encouraging friends and bragging.

We will then use those skills while discussing each group member's artwork. We will also discuss our feelings with regard to receiving complements and criticism.

We will also continue our work with A 5 Could Make Me Lose Control! and Movie Time Social Learning if time permits.
