Treaties Recognition Week
Treaties Recognition Week is the first week of November every year. Treaties Recognition Week was introduced in 2016 to honour the importance of treaties and to help Ontarians learn more about treaty rights and treaty relationships. Ontario is covered by 46 treaties. Schools across the LDSB will learn about treaties as part of our Indigenous Education Month. More information about treaties in Ontario can be found at https://www.ontario.ca/page/treaties
Online Payments Coming Soon
The Limestone District School Board is introducing a new online system to make the process of providing permission and paying for school-related events and activities more timely and efficient.
We are pleased to share that our school is one of several in the Napanee family of schools to pilot this new secure online portal that will allow families to complete payments and permission forms from any web browser.
How does this new system work? Parents and guardians will be invited via email to view their student’s events and activities. This might include events such as field trips and sporting events or activities such as special lunches and yearbook purchases. Parents/guardians will then be asked to complete the required permissions (if applicable) and complete payment via credit card or debit.
All transactions will be completed via a secure portal that requires the use of a unique key code for each student that is specific to each parent/guardian. Instructions on how to register for this new system will be shared once the system goes live near the end of November.
The new portal will remove the risks associated with sending money to school with students, the frustration of lost or missing permission forms, and significantly reduce the amount of paper our school consumes.
We are excited to offer our families this efficient and convenient tool, and we hope you will consider signing up for School-Day Permissions & Payments once the system goes live. As with the introduction of any new system, we appreciate your understanding and patience as we move forward.
