Raphael was named successor to Bramante as chief architect, of the Vatican. Raphael painted Stanza della Segnatura. Raphael also painted "Madonna" the Virgin Mary (Jesus mom).

Born: April 06, 1483 in Urbino, Italy
Died: April 06, 1520 in Rome, ItalyRaphael’s funeral was grand, and was interred at the Pantheon. On his sarcophagus, it says, “Here lies that famous Raphael by whom nature feared to be conquered while he lived, and when he was dying, feared herself to die.”
