Ways to Help
In an effort to give students a collective way to show their support for Allison, our teachers Nancy Faulkner and Margie Scobbo will be organizing a 7th and 8th grade dance on Friday, November 11th here at KP from 6:30 - 8:30pm. To make this fundraising event a success, we need your help. Would you consider donating your time to chaperone the dance, baking goodies to sell at the dance, or donating paper products? If you are willing to help, please contact Margie Scobbo at Margarita_Scobbo@whps.org
I am also including a Go Fund Me effort (see below) started to support a medical fund for Allison's medical treatment.

In the Community
Being Mindful While Parenting Sponsored by the West Hartford Libraries and Great by 8!
Being Mindful while Parenting is a free group being offered at the Noah Webster Library, 20 South Main Street. Parenting is more enjoyable when you are calm and have a basis for parenting decisions. Achieve this with mindful parenting. Parenting mindfully means parenting in the present moment, non-judgmentally, without the need to react. We all know that raising a family creates stress that can cause us to react without thinking.
With the practice of mindfulness and grounding guidelines for our parenting choices, we can reduce the stress and choose to respond thoughtfully. Come and join other parents who are interested in learning how to use mindfulness to their advantage and raise responsible adults. You and your family will benefit, and thank you, for taking this time for yourself.
Our meetings are held in the Noah Webster Library story room. You may attend just one or more as you wish. No registration required, come comfortable, ready to relax. You deserve it.
