Resurrection-St. Paul School
Encounter Christ's Presence - Year of the Eucharist
February 13, 2022
This week we will be switching to 'parental choice' for masking at RSPS (see letter below). Thank you for the feedback regarding this policy change. Here are some highlights from the letter and new policy:
- For students, this option will be based on parental choice. Staff and visitors will also have the option to wear a mask or not. This applies to all individuals, regardless of vaccination status.
- Anyone who would like to wear a mask may continue to do so, and is fully supported in their decision and should be treated with respect.
- Parents of child(ren) of any age or vaccination status may request their own child(ren) wear a mask; however, enforcement of this request is between the parent and child, not the school administration, faculty or staff.
- All Catholic schools will adhere to CDC guidance relative to individuals who test positive for COVID-19 or who have been identified as a close contact outside of school by the health department or other health officials.
Tomorrow morning faculty and staff will be addressing the 'optional masking' policy with students. We will be reminding students of the expectation about treating others with kindness and respect regardless of our differences. We are cognizant of the potential for negative emotional responses, social labeling, and/or prejudicial attitudes to those with or without masks.
Pope Francis reminds us, "We must walk united with our differences: there is no other way to become one. This is the way of Jesus." As we continue to partner in the education of your child(ren), please speak with them about our PBIS values and treating everyone with kindness and respect.
Sincerely,
Ryan Hellem

Health Reminders
Please be extra vigilant and monitor the health of all members of your household. We are seeing students test positive with very minor symptoms such as headache, scratchy throat, and running nose.
There is a Vaccine Clinic on 2/23 - 2:30 - 6:00 PM - Walk-ins welcome.
Our ability to offer in-person instruction is dependent on your partnership. If a child is exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, RSV, or Influenza, they should remain home to avoid exposing the school community to illness. The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our top priority. While COVID-19 vaccinations are not mandated in our schools, we encourage vaccination for all eligible students and staff to reduce the potential for serious illness and hospitalization.
RSPS will continue to provide rapid antigen testing testing to confirm symptomatic cases in school.
Mask Status - 2/14 - 2/17
Beginning on Monday, February 14, 2022, the Department of Catholic Schools will transition all archdiocesan schools, where jurisdictions allow, to optional masking. For students, this option will be based on parental choice. Staff and visitors will also have the option to wear a mask or not. This applies to all individuals, regardless of vaccination status.
Vaccine Documentation
Please follow the format for the subject line of the email:
Subject: Vaccine Card - Student Last Name (e.g. Vaccine Card - Hellem)
This information will remain confidential and, as always, we respect each family's decision regarding vaccinations.
Flyers & Other Information
Miracles of the Eucharist - Stop by our lobby to see panels depicting 11 of the 136 miracles involving the Eucharist that have been fully approved by the Vatican. Blessed Carlo Acutis was an Italian teenager who researched the miracles and created a website about them. Blessed Carlo said that if people believed in the True Presence of Christ in the Eucharist and the amazing graces they receive from it that their lives would be transformed, and was convinced that if people really understood that Christ is present in the tabernacle that churches would be full. He died when he was only 15 years old and is the first Millennial to be beatified in the Catholic Church.
