  • Found in shallow areas of the water, usually along a coast with strong waves.
  • Lives from the low tide zone.

  • Spikes for mobilization and protection from predators.

How does it move?

  • Spikes.

How does it eat?

  • Mouth is setup underneath its body.
  • Graze along the kelp forest.
  • Sea urchins eat plant and animal matter, including kelp, decaying matter, algae, dead fish, sponges, mussels, and barnacles.

Daily Changes

  • Sea urchin is in the low tide zone, it is rarely exposed, therefore is never has desiccation problems.
