Learn a little about our WCS religion program-

Our middle school religion program is broken into three components, prayer, content, and service. Through the Salvatorian Mission of being the goodness and kindness of Jesus Christ, our students learn what it means to serve and help others. At the same time, they are learning how to pray and reflect through Mass reflections, the Lectio Divina, and discussing scripture. The final piece is geared to the specific grade levels, where the students learn about the Old Testament and covenants in 6th grade, the story of Jesus’ life in 7th, and our church history in 8th.

February is Black History Month~

Black History Makers

This past Weds., students from grades K4 - 3rd were able to travel around 5 different classrooms for various sessions on Black History Makers. They learned about George Washington Carver, George Crumb, Serena Williams, Harriet Tubman, and Jackie Robinson. Ask your student to tell you about their Black History Maker booklet and what they learned. Thanks to our amazing teachers for organizing a fun way for students to learn!

Learn about Fr. Augustus Tolton-

Lent is near.

WCS is continuing to support the Capuchin Community Services. This event supports St. Ben’s Community outreach and the House of Peace with essential items: soap, dental care items, shampoo, baby care items and other needed supplies.

Our students will also participate in Project Rice Bowl. Project Rice Bowl supports work around the world that helps to fight hunger and poverty. The rice bowls should be turned in at the end of Lent. (Participation in these 2 projects is voluntary.)

Each student will also receive a daily reflection book – Lent with St. Clare. The prayers will be ready for you to share as a family in the morning, at dinnertime, or before bed.

Enjoy the sunshine and long weekend!
