Coloma Junior High

Week of September 7, 2020

Reminder No School on Monday!

No School on Monday due to the Labor Day Holiday. We will be back full time on Tuesday!

All Grade Levels Return Full Time

Last week we had a great week welcoming each grade level individually. The phased in start allowed us to review new protocols with students and acclimate everyone to the building.

This week we will be welcoming all grade levels back for full days. We feel confident that our students will implement all of the safety protocols that were reviewed last week.

Parent Reminders

  • Please return the paperwork that came home with your child last week. This allows us to update all of your contact information and more.
  • Chromebook Insurance is due on Friday, please send in cash or check to the main office.

Student Reminders

  • Bring your Chromebook Charged every day!!
  • Please continue to use your separate grade level entrances when you arrive each morning.
  • Teachers will be traveling to your grade level hallway for class, no need to travel to them.
  • You are welcome to carry your backpack to class so that your supplies are with you.

Athletic Update

With the updated Executive Order released last week as well as MHSAA's new guidance, we are happy to announce the start of Fall Sports for JH students.

JH Cross Country

Practice Begins on Tuesday 3:20 - 4:30

7th/8th Grade Football

Practice Begins on Wednesday 3:30 - 5:30

JH Volleyball

Practice Begins on Wednesday 3:20 - 4:30

Remember all athletes must have a MHSAA Health Survey/Physical Form completed and a mask to participate.

After School

Students must have transportation immediately following dismissal each day. Students will not be allowed to remain in the building after school hours. We will not be holding After School Study Hall for the 2020-21 school year.

Band Students

Please plan on bringing your band instruments this week! Students with large instruments can be stored in the grade level hallway, just check with a teacher and they will direct you to the right spot. We will not be storing instruments in Room 21 this year.

Food Service Updates

Starting on Friday, September 11th. All students will be provided with 2 breakfasts and 2 lunches that they can take home with them at the end of day every Friday. This is a wonderful program that Chartwells is providing for all CCS students.

2019-20 Yearbooks

Did you miss out on a Yearbook for the 2019-20 School Year? We have a small batch of extra yearbooks available for purchase. The cost is $16 per book, first come first served. Payment must be cash or check made out to Coloma Community Schools. Reach out to Mrs. Oles if you have any questions

Chromebook Insurance

Chromebooks were issued to all students on the first day of school. If your child did not receive their Chromebook, they should check with the main office when they return to school.

Students are responsible for taking care of their Chromebook. It is highly recommended that each child purchase insurance for $20. The cost of insurance will cover any accidental damage that may occur throughout the school year. Our tech department will service Chromebooks here on site if your child has any issues with their device.
